Global Geophysical was built from the ground up by a team of some of the most experienced people in the seismic business. We have combined the innovation, responsibility, and accountability of the old geophysical industry with the latest technology, new state-of-the-art equipment, and leanest organizational structure in today’s seismic industry.
Our Business
In much the same way that doctors use ultrasound scanning to obtain images from inside the human body, we use sound waves to image the subsurface of the earth for the purpose of locating hydrocarbon reservoirs. We “excite” the earth by introducing source energy into the ground, and we record the resulting vibrations that reflect back to the earth’s surface. The recorded data is processed with supercomputers to create a detailed model of the subsurface that can be used by exploration and production (E&P) companies to identify complex subsurface structural and stratigraphic details which help guide them in their search for oil and gas reservoirs.

A three dimensional (3D) survey is acquired with a surface geometry -- a grid of source lines and receiver lines extending over very large regional areas. The size of this grid varies with and depends on the size, depth, and geophysical characteristics of the geologic objective to be imaged. Global Geophysical specializes in acquiring high density, Reservoir-Grade 3D (RG3D®) data sets and provides land and marine seismic acquisition solutions on a proprietary contract or speculative basis. |
