Global Geophysical Services investor, Jim Copp, is helping to build the Global brand…one race track at a time. He has added the Global logo to his Porsche GT2-R, which will debut at the Porsche Owners Club Race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on February 2, 2007.
Jim is co-owner of Plenums Plus, a sheet metal fabricator and HVAC supply company located in San Diego. His father, Bob Copp, started the family business in 1986.
Jim and his brother, Mike, are founding investors of Global Geophysical. “I have known and worked with Richard Brown and his wife Heidi (Degner) for many years and always admired their dedication and work ethic,” stated Jim. “I knew that Heidi’s brother, Richard, was cut from the same cloth. When presented with the opportunity to invest in their company, it was a no-brainer. I knew it would be successful—they live by the same principal values that we employ at Plenums Plus.”
Racing has been a hobby for Jim and Mike for the past four years. They compete nationally in the Porsche Club of America’s Club Racing, and also participate in the racing series sponsored by The Porsche Owners Club. When asked why he made the decision to put the Global logo on his race car, Jim responded, “Mike and I are proud to be associated with this company. Global Geophysical has all of the dynamics for a winning team….and we like to win!”
Mike’s Porsche is number “444”; coincidentally, Crew 444 is the name of Global’s very first seismic crew, which was deployed in May of 2005.
Richard Degner would like to squelch the rumor that Global is considering purchasing a couple of Porsches to replace the Global Volkswagen Doodlebug pool cars. |
