Chris Verret has joined Global Geophysical Services, Inc. as Country Manager of Argentina. Reporting directly to Kirk Girouard, Vice President of Western Hemisphere Land Operations, Chris will capitalize on his well-established network of key contacts in the E&P industry to help expand our Latin America operations into Argentina and beyond.
Chris has 27 years of experience worldwide and throughout all disciplines of the seismic industry. He began his career working as a processing seismologist for Geophysical Service Inc. (GSI) in Dallas, Texas in 1980. He quickly moved from data processing to international field operations and served as project manager on significant 3D seismic programs around the globe. Chris later transitioned through the ranks in operations at Halliburton Geophysical Services (HGS).
When Western Geophysical acquired HGS in 1994, Chris was assigned to Latin American operations as Area Geophysicist based in Argentina and subsequently held both technical and managerial positions. Following the merger of Western Geophysical and Schlumberger’s Geco-Prakla which formed WesternGeco, Chris transferred to Houston and worked as Account Manager and Land Sales Manager for North America.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Resources Management from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist (SEG) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG).
“Chris’ extensive worldwide experience coupled with his lengthy tenure in Latin America and bilingual skills make him an ideal candidate to lead our growth in Argentina,” comments Richard Degner, President & CEO of Global. “Residing in Buenos Aires, Chris will also support Global in a business development role throughout Latin America by assisting Kirk as well as Latin American Operations Manager Ivan Ortega and Operations Supervisor Mark Yale in identifying new opportunities across the South American continent.”
