December 28, 2006.  Global welcomes David Maskell as Operations Finance Manager

David (Dave) Maskell joins Global Geophysical as Operations Finance Manager, reporting directly to Global’s three product line VP’s, Kirk Girouard, Duncan Riley and Maurice Flynn.  Dave’s background in land and shallow marine seismic operations, coupled with his expertise in financial valuation, modeling and budgeting, will enable him to quickly become an integral part of Global’s senior management team.

Dave began his career with Geko-Prakla, a division of Schlumberger Oilfield Services, where he gained hands-on experience as a seismic observer in North America, Mexico, Venezuela and North Africa.  He advanced through the ranks of Technical Supervisor, Field Crew Manager and Project Manager, and directed all aspects of field crew operations including logistics, environmental regulations, HSE, finance, permitting and local community and union relations.

After earning a masters degree, Dave transitioned into wholesale energy trading, and most recently served as Senior Manager in the Finance Group for the North America division of Direct Energy, a leading retailer of energy solutions for both residential and business customers.

As Global’s Operations Finance Manager, Dave will work directly for Global’s product line VP’s serving as the financial liaison between them, their operations managers, and accounting.  Dave will also have a lateral report to Craig Lindberg, Global’s CFO.  Together Dave and Craig will design and implement functional systems for daily P&L, the distribution of monthly operations reports, financial forecasting, revenue and cost planning, and CAPEX budgeting for all of Global’s field crew operations.  He will work closely with our accounting and operations managers to ensure comprehensive and accurate billing, revenue recognition, and monthly cost accruals.

Dave earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and minored in Math at the University of Keele in Staffordshire, UK.  He recently earned a Masters of Business Administration from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management.  Dave is also fluent in Spanish.

“Dave’s experience as a seismic observer and crew manager combined with his masters in business administration and recent senior finance exposure make Dave very unique and very special to Global,” states Richard Degner.  “He knows field operations and knows how to support them because he ran them himself!”
