Mark Yale, a 17+ year industry veteran, joins Global Geophysical Services as Operations Supervisor, Western Hemisphere.
Mark began his career at Western Geophysical, working his way up the ranks in various middle management positions in both operations and financial management. On the operations side, Mark served as the Houston-based QHSE Supervisor for Europe and Latin America, then advanced to Project Manager and Operations Manager for land crews in Mexico and Venezuela.
Mark’s MBA education and extensive business acumen excelled him to the position of Finance & Administration Manager in Mexico City, and then Bolivia. As WesternGeco’s Business Analyst for Mexico, he successfully implemented the accounting controls that enabled the land crews to better track their financial performance against pre-set goals.
Most recently based in Mexico City, Mark managed all administrative and financial reporting for a $107 million joint venture with a Mexican engineering and construction firm.
“I have personally worked with Mark throughout his career, especially in Latin America,” comments Richard Degner. “Two of the many attributes that makes Mark so successful is his bi-cultural Spanish-English background and his broad range of financial and operational experiences."
Born in Libya, Mark spent most of his early life overseas, growing up in Latin America, Africa and the Far East. He earned his Masters of Business Administration, Master of Science in Reservoir Geology, and Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
Reporting directly to Kirk Girouard, VP of Western Hemisphere Land Operations, Mark will support land operations in North America, and also assist Ivan Ortega with crew operations in Latin America. Mark and his family have relocated from Mexico to Houston.
