Global Geophysical announces its newly implemented Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSEMS). The web-based electronic management system (e-MS) was developed in consultation with industry leader GSR out of the United Kingdom. Richard Degner, President of Global Geophysical, states, “Our newly created HSEMS exceeds the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP) recommendations for development and application of HSE management systems.” Global’s e-MS includes a fully documented corporate HSE Management System comprised of 7 key elements. Each key element is supported by sub-elements necessary for the development, implementation and maintenance of the whole system.

“Our HSEMS mirrors the OGP model and includes a web-based data entry and monitoring component that allows instant sharing of HSE information company-wide,” said Degner. Adding, “We have put an extensive effort into customizing the e-MS to suite Global’s HSE and business model and corporate strategies. 

Jeff Howell, Vice President of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, worked closely with GSR for weeks to establish HSE policies and operating standards which form the basis of our HSE management system.” Jeff Howell, VP of QHSE states, “Global’s HSEMS model will be easily recognizable by OGP member companies and the seismic acquisition client community in general.” Global’s e-MS provides a document control system, as there is only one copy of the document, hosted on a server. Adding, “Document control issues disappear with this system as our field crews and staff can access corporate HSE policies, standards, procedures and a wealth of supporting documents and reference materials with a few clicks on the keyboard.”

Advantages of Global’s e-MS include: reduced workload for field staff; remote client access for project monitoring, crew and project HSE plan templates, an extensive Hazard Register, links to a variety of industry reference documents, statistical data and report forms, a documented structured approach for internal and external auditing, and provides for an effective HSE management interface with our clients and contractors.
